## Summary

The National Health Service (NHS) England is planning a procurement process for a 'Population Health Fellowship - Market Engagement' opportunity. This initiative aims to develop a fellowship programme to enhance population health skills for healthcare professionals supporting Integrated Care Systems. The procurement stage is currently at the planning phase, with a Market Engagement Session scheduled for 23rd October 2023. Interested organisations must RSVP by 19th October 2023. The opportunity falls under the education and training services category and is targeted at businesses interested in supporting health system improvements.

This tender by NHS England offers an opportunity for businesses in the services sector to participate in the development of Population Health Fellowship programmes. Companies with expertise in education and healthcare services, particularly those focused on population health and prevention, are well-suited to compete. By engaging in this procurement, businesses can contribute to the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan's objective of expanding population health expertise across Integrated Care Systems, thus fostering potential growth and collaboration in the healthcare sector.

## Notice

NHS England (NHSE - the Authority) will be commencing a Market Engagement for Population Health Fellowship development to an accredited qualification alongside the delivery of this learning programme.

A multi-professional Population Health Fellowship (PHF) was established in February 2020 and has successfully delivered three cohorts of 80 fellows with the fourth cohort of 28 fellows having commenced in September 2023.

The fellowship provides healthcare professionals with a 12-month 2 days per week learning programme designed to enhance their population health skills to support Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to deliver their objectives in improving the health of their populations and to reduce health inequalities. The NHS Long Term Workforce Plan commits to an expansion of the PHF to have a fellow working in every ICS to support the development of local expertise in population health and prevention.
