## Summary

Associated British Ports (ABP) has issued a tender for the development of the Immingham Green Energy Terminal (IGET), a substantial green energy infrastructure project located at the Port of Immingham, United Kingdom, classified under "Construction work" in the CPV scheme (45000000). This project pertains to the construction industry category with ABP seeking to appoint a lead contractor or consortium to undertake the design and build contract. The procurement process is at the active Tender stage, with submissions closing on January 12th, 2024. The subsequent invitation to the second stage will be issued on February 5th, 2024. The project is valued at £140 million and will occupy an area of approximately 102.52 hectares. The initiative aims to support the import of green ammonia from Neom, Saudi Arabia, converting it to green hydrogen, thereby assisting the UK's transport sector decarbonisation and enabling carbon capture storage. ABP has instigated a selective, negotiated procurement process with a prior call for competition, with an approximate contract period spread over 900 days.

The IGET project presents a significant business growth opportunity for construction firms, especially those specialising in marine construction, engineering design, dredging, and water projects. Organisations with experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and the capability to handle complex logistics and environmental considerations would be well-positioned to compete. Involvement in this project will bolster a company's portfolio with green energy credentials and enhance its industry standing, given the high-profile nature of ABP's focus on sustainability and Net Zero transition. The successful contractor will gain a pivotal role in a landmark project, fostering further business opportunities within the renewable energy and port infrastructure sectors.

## Notice

Immingham Green Energy Terminal (IGET) will be a multi-user bulk liquid green energy terminal to support the import of green ammonia (NH3) to be converted to green hydrogen. This will assist with decarbonizing the UK's transport sector and the import of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) to facilitate carbon capture storage, both of which will assist ABP's transition towards Net Zero. The proposed terminal is to be operated by ABP as a common user facility, providing port capacity for multiple customers. The Proposed Development would occupy an area of approximately 102.52 hectares. ABP is looking to appoint a lead contractor to undertake the design and build contract for the development of IGET at the Port of Immingham. ABP has undertaken a two-stage negotiated procurement process for the Scope identified in accordance with The Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016. The successful Applicant following the procurement process is Bouygues Travaux Publics.
