The combination of courses offered should include generalist Community Development, Volunteering Skills, Youth Work, Diversity / Good Relations / Equality, Community Health Facilitation or general facilitation or courses with very similar content. The combination must include accreditations at a range of levels (i.e. not all level 1, but also level 2 and level 3 courses which can really build an individual's capacity). Every individual, regardless of course, must have the opportunity to experience at least one community site visit beyond the classroom. The aim of the project is to expand the current volunteer base and community capacity to future proof and sustain the community and volunteer sector within the council area. The project has been designed in response to widespread concern identified in the PEACEPLUS co-design process across the entire Community and Voluntary Sector, around the ageing demographic of those currently working and volunteering in the sector.
