## Summary

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees is initiating a procurement process to establish an Electronic Market Place (EMP) for the provision of supported accommodation services for individuals aged 16+. This initiative falls under the Health and Social Work Services category and will operate from the Kirklees region. The procurement is being carried out under the Light Touch Regime of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, with the intention to maintain an open market approach. The EMP is anticipated to run from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2034, with an estimated annual value of £3,000,000, aimed at fostering a dynamic and continually refreshed pool of service providers. The procurement stage is currently open, allowing potential members to apply for participation.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with relevant experience to join the market and provide valuable services in a supportive capacity to young people transitioning into independence. The EMP is categorised into four service provision types, which require providers with expertise in managing different supported accommodation settings. Companies specialising in care services, particularly those registered with Ofsted, are well-suited to apply. The open procurement method allows for ongoing applications, ensuring diverse and qualified service providers have the opportunity to contribute to this essential community service.
