This tender by National Grid Electricity Transmission PLC presents an opportunity for IT service providers specialising in consulting, software development, and Internet services. Businesses registered against specified UVDB codes can compete for the contract to deliver a cloud-based integration platform. Successful bidders will play a crucial role in transforming and consolidating the integration landscape of the high voltage electricity network in England and Wales. The project aims to reduce reliance on specialist resources, accelerate business value realization, and enhance the overall efficiency of the electricity network.

## Notice

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NG ET) owns and maintains the high voltage electricity network in England and Wales comprising 4,500 miles of overhead line, 900 miles of underground cable and more than 300 substations. Our cables and substations are at the centre of the energy system. Every time a phone is plugged in, or switch is turned on, we've played a part, connecting homes and business to the electricity they need. It's a crucial role and pivotal in turning the UK's net zero ambitions into reality. NG ET aims to become an intelligently connected utility, with the ability to respond quickly to market opportunities and changes impacting the business. The enterprise integration platform is the nerve centre that connects internal business systems together and enables secure business flows and process automation between NG ET and other National Grid entities as well as between NG ET and various eco-system partners. The current suite of integration products and their operating model limit the Business' aspirations to be modern and agile. Building new integrations relies on a central pool of specialised resources and constrains the speed at which integration projects can be delivered.

The selected platform will be installed in the National Grid private cloud. Standing up the new platform is the first phase of a longer program to transform and consolidate the integration landscape. The selected platform will: - deliver a comprehensive suite of integration capabilities to support a wide range of business use cases - become the landing zone for some 265 interfaces that need to be migrated in the next phase from the current OFM and MuleSoft solutions that currently make up the ET integration landscape.
