## Summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is procuring a Building Management System (BMS) Servicing and Maintenance Contract. The Trust is seeking services for the maintenance of its BMS controlling mechanical and electrical equipment like power systems, HVAC, lighting, fire protection, and security systems. The contract involves upgrading BMS systems to include energy efficiency and sustainability as part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, with the procurement process expected to start in Q1/Q2 2024. The current interim contract with Schneider Electric Limited runs until November 2024 for the completion of ongoing projects.

This tender provides opportunities for businesses specialising in maintenance services of electrical and mechanical building installations to compete. Businesses with expertise in building management systems, energy efficiency, and sustainability solutions would be well-suited to participate in this tender. As the Trust plans to expand its BMS capabilities and meet decarbonisation goals, contractors offering advanced BMS technologies and maintenance services would have a competitive edge in securing this contract.

## Notice

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is entering into a contract for servicing and maintenance of its building management system (BMS) that controls and monitors its mechanical and electrical equipment such as: power systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), lighting, fire protection, and security systems.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

In recent years, the functionality of BMS's has evolved to include energy efficiency and sustainability. It is for this reason, the Trust embarked on a project to roll out a new Schneider BMS across its estate as part of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS).

This project is currently ongoing and is estimated to be completed sometime during the 2nd half of 2024.

The Trust intends to conduct a procurement exercise of a new contract for servicing and maintenance of its various BMS systems (Schneider EcoStruxure, Trend and Andover Continuum) to commence post-completion of the PSDS project.

It is intended the tender for this contract will be advertised on the Government's Find a Tender service during Q1/Q2 2024.

The Trust therefore has entered into a contract directly with Schneider Electric Limited until November 2024 to facilitate conclusion of both the abovementioned PSDS and procurement projects.

Options: The initial term is 6 months with the option to extend for a further 6 months, taking the maximum permissible term of this contract to 12 months

### Procurement Information

To support the smooth delivery of the PSDS project as well as day to day running of the system, the Trust requires up to 5 days per week of both planned and reactive engineering support across all three campuses (QMC, City & Ropewalk) for a short term interim period.

It is envisaged the level of support required will reduce following completion of the PSDS.

Changing maintenance provider partway through the PSDS project is too risky from both an operational and technical perspective. For example, a change of provider is likely to impact timescales for completion of the PSDS).
