## Summary

The Community Schools Trust is undergoing a procurement process titled "Community Schools Trust Catering" to manage catering services across five secondary schools in London, located within the boroughs of Newham and Hackney. This tender falls within the school catering services category and represents a significant opportunity with an initial contract valued at approximately £4.5 million. The process employed is a selective, two-stage restricted procedure under the education sector, with the submission deadline having passed on 11th January 2024. Following this, the contract was awarded to Olive Dining as of 28th October 2025, marking the completion of the award stage. This contract is set to commence on 1st August 2024 for an initial three-year term, with a possible two-year extension offered based on performance and mutual agreement.

This contract presents a growth opportunity for businesses specialising in high-quality catering services tailored for the educational sector. Companies adept in managing large-scale operations and maintaining high service standards across multiple sites would find this an attractive prospect. Notably, organisations that can provide exceptional food quality and proactive management are likely to thrive. Firms experienced in working with pension schemes like LGPS or NEST and those with or ready to achieve Admitted Body Status in the London Boroughs of Hackney and Newham are particularly well-suited for competing in tenders like this one. The award to Olive Dining, a large-scale supplier, highlights the importance of having robust capabilities and a proven track record in the sector.
