## Summary

The Department of Agriculture, Environment, and Rural Affairs (DAERA), through the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI), initiated a tender for the purchase of Liquid-Chromatographic Mass-Spectrometers (LC-MS/MS) in 2023/24. This procurement, categorised under laboratory and optical equipment, aims to acquire these instruments for AFBI's research and testing needs. The procurement process is in an active status, with a deadline set for 31st March 2024. The tender comprises two lots, each with specific requirements and warranty conditions.

This tender by AFBI presents an opportunity for contractors specialising in the supply, delivery, installation, and maintenance of scientific equipment to engage in a competitive bidding process. Businesses experienced in dealing with laboratory instruments, particularly Liquid Chromatograph-Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometers, are well-suited to participate. The open procurement method allows for fair competition, and successful contractors will have the opportunity to secure contracts to provide these essential scientific instruments to AFBI for their research activities.
