## Summary

The Home Office is leading a procurement process for the Radiological Nuclear Detection Framework, aimed at acquiring radiological nuclear detection equipment and associated services. This framework supports the Home Office's strategic objectives and is designed to enhance the UK's domestic nuclear security systems. The procurement, classified under the CPV code for nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological protection equipment, covers a period from 19th August 2024 to 18th August 2028. The framework is divided into several lots, including Backpack, Handheld, Body-Worn, and Static Detectors, with an overall contract value of £105 million. The procurement is currently in the tender stage, using an open procedure, and interested suppliers must be registered on the Home Office tenders portal. The submission deadline for tenders is set for 31st January 2024.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in detection equipment, digital integration, software support, and maintenance services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as larger companies ready to provide innovative solutions and demonstrate technical prowess stand to benefit. The framework allows for up to 999 participants, promoting competitive bidding and potentially yielding substantial contracts over the four-year period. Companies excelling in nuclear security, digitally enabled service management, and integration with centralised databases will find this an excellent venue to expand their business within the public sector. Additionally, suppliers focusing on environmentally responsible disposal or recycling of detection equipment will be particularly well-suited to fulfil the sustainability aspects of the Home Office requirements.
