## Summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has recently updated its procurement process concerning the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) aimed at providing extra vehicle and staff capacity for non-emergency patient transport services. The procurement, under the reference number RBA/TS/LOC/0342, pertains to the healthcare industry, specifically ambulance services. Key dates include the closure of the DPS on 6th January 2025. The system was initially established to offer support during seasonal pressures, hospital discharges and regular patient transport needs within Somerset. The procurement stage is currently at the tender update phase.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in patient transport services, ambulance services, or healthcare logistics to expand their operations. Companies that can offer reliable, scalable transport solutions and meet the service specifications outlined in the DPS will find this particularly advantageous. The involvement in such a contract would not only lead to potential long-term engagements over the DPS's ten-year duration but also reinforce a supplier’s footprint in the public health sector, particularly within the Somerset region. This could open doors to further contracts with other public sector bodies located in the area, fostering sustained business growth.
