## Summary

The most recent procurement process for "Perfusion Devices, Consumables and Associated Equipment" was completed by Supply Chain Coordination Limited, a national agency operating under the NHS. The procurement falls under the medical equipment industry category, with a focus on goods relevant to supporting the circulatory and lymphatic systems during surgical procedures or organ transplants. This open procurement utilised an open procedure framework agreement with an initial 24-month term, extendable up to 48 months. The contract, valued at approximately £70 million, was awarded and signed on 28th August 2025, with deliveries expected across various locations in the UK. The procurement process, covered by the WTO's Government Procurement Agreement, concluded with robust participation by multiple suppliers.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the medical equipment sector to expand their market presence and grow their clientele, particularly those offering high-quality perfusion products. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would find this framework particularly beneficial, as indicated by the participation of several SMEs in the bidding process. The comprehensive scope of the framework agreement allows suppliers to offer innovative solutions and establish long-term supply relationships with the NHS and other public bodies. The emphasis on quality criteria, such as supply chain assessment and added value training programs, highlights the chance for businesses to differentiate themselves through enhanced service offerings and social value contributions, such as environmental sustainability and equal opportunity efforts.
