## Summary

The UK Health Security Agency awarded a contract to Mirion Technologies for servicing and maintenance of radiometric equipment at Chilton and Glasgow sites. The procurement method used was a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care acting as part of the Crown through UKHSA facilitated this contract. The contract involves maintenance services of medical and precision equipment in the industry category of repair and maintenance services. The 60-month agreement includes a 12 + 12 month extension option.

This tender presents business opportunities for suppliers of maintenance and servicing for medical equipment, especially those with expertise in radiometric equipment. Given Mirion's exclusive rights to their products, they were the sole supplier capable of meeting UKHSA's requirements. Businesses with experience in providing technical services for precision instruments could find this opportunity suitable for growth due to the specialised nature of the maintenance services required by the UKHSA. The procurement stage for this contract was in the award phase, with the active status of the awarded contract signed on 22nd December 2023.

## Notice

Awarding a contract to Mirion Technologies for a servicing and maintenance contract for Radiometric equipment covering both Chilton and Glasgow sites

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) requires a maintenance contract for Radiometric equipment across both the Chilton and Glasgow sites. A fully contracted and on-demand maintenance with Mirion will ensure overview of every machine in the fleet, avoiding unplanned downtime whilst extending lifetime of equipment, which could be detrimental to the on-going projects within UKHSA.

Due to Mirion holding exclusive rights relating to their products, UKHSA believes that Mirion is the only supplier capable of providing the Services required. It would be a near technical impossibility for another supplier to achieve the required performance necessary to maintain and service UKHSA's Mirion equipment due to a lack of specific know-how and access to the relevant documentation to undertake the required activities.

Therefore a decision has been made to enter into a 60 month agreement with Mirion Technologies for this maintenance and servicing with a 12 + 12 month extension option available.

Options: 12 + 12 month extension options available.

### Procurement Information

Mirion Technologies are the OEM and they do not instruct any third party agents or providers to complete or carry out the service activities on these instruments. Due to the nature of the work carried out using these instruments it is imperative that they are maintained to the manufacturers standards.
