## Summary

The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has initiated a tender process for the procurement of training services in defence and security materials under the title "Nuclear Security Capacity Building". The procurement falls under the main procurement category of services. It aims to promote a strong nuclear security culture internationally over a 4-year period, with the initial contract lasting 12 months and optional extensions. The tender will follow a competitive procedure with negotiation, and the deadline for submissions is set for 19th April 2024, with the award period starting on 13th May 2024.

This tender by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero presents an opportunity for organisations or consortia well-versed in nuclear security practices to engage in delivering strategic programmes and activities internationally. Businesses in the fields of nuclear safety equipment, research and development services, specialist training, and security and defence materials are suited to compete. The procurement method involves a selective competitive procedure with negotiation, aiming to foster awareness and practices in nuclear security, with the potential for long-term collaborations.
