The project will span approximately 2 to 3 years, offering a long-term opportunity for contractors to showcase their capabilities in delivering LEV systems compliant with industry standards and regulations. ## Notice Norfolk County Council will be seeking to enter into a contract with a single contractor for the installation of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems at 29 fire stations across Norfolk. ### Lot Information Lot 1 The Council will be seeking a contractor to provide Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems that will extract the exhaust emissions from within the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) fire stations / vehicle buildings emitted by the vehicles & other fuelled equipment (typically diesel fire appliances) to control exposure to individuals (and equipment/PPE) from the harmful effects of exhaust emissions. The vehicles are started and run in a 'closed environment', with adjoining rooms, offices, and equipment is stored in the area with potential for contamination from particulates and emissions. This extraction should meet the expectations regarding LEV within HSG187 The equipment provided shall be compliant with PUWER 1998, and the requirements of HSG258 - the supplier will: * Survey, design & build systems in accordance with HSG258, consideration of outlets and effects on neighbouring properties / site activities. * require indicators to be fitted to show that the system is working properly. * require the LEV to be easy to use, check, maintain. * provide training in how to use, check and maintain the LEV system. * provide a logbook for the system to record the results of checks and maintenance. The survey of the sites and designs will be undertaken under a Professional Services Contract. The installation works will be undertaken under a construction contract, based on the final designs.
