## Summary

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract to the Priory Group for providing Adult Mental Health inpatient acute beds in the UKH1 region, specifically for the Norwich area. The procurement falls under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, with an active contract status commencing from 28th March 2025. This award confirms a previously announced contract, extended due to unforeseen circumstances delaying the new facility opening. With a contract value of £840,086.20, this interim arrangement underlines the service's critical need, extending for an additional 59 days from March 2025. The primary industry category is health services, and the procurement was executed using a direct award method, outside the typical application scope of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities for large health service providers, particularly those capable of delivering comprehensive mental health care services. It is ideal for organisations with existing infrastructure to rapidly deploy psychiatric, therapeutic, and multidisciplinary treatment in acute settings. With a focus on maintaining community links for users and meeting stringent legal and care standards, businesses engaging in this tender can strengthen their service delivery capabilities. The presence within the geographic footprint is vital, meeting NHS continuity of care principles, which can lead to long-term partnerships and expansion opportunities. Given the complex requirements, experienced providers in health and social work services will find themselves well-positioned to secure and execute such contracts effectively.
