## Summary

Leicester City Council, in collaboration with the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland NHS Integrated Care Board, has completed the procurement process for the "ASC0307 - Home Care Service Leicester". This contract falls under the category of health and social work services and aims to provide home support to individuals, enabling them to maintain independence. The procurement led to the creation of framework agreements covering two lots: 'General Home Care Support' and 'High Dependency Home Care Support', with contracts commencing on 1st April 2026. This open procedure procurement was conducted under the Light Touch Regime, and the agreement allows for a contract period of up to seven years, subject to performance reviews. No specific work volume is guaranteed to the successful providers, ensuring a flexible approach to meet the changing needs within the administrative areas covered.

The awarded framework agreements present significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social care services. The procurement process attracted a competitive field with multiple suppliers securing agreements across both lots, highlighting the demand for high-quality and price-competitive service providers. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with capabilities in domiciliary care and those focused on enhancing client independence will find this procurement particularly beneficial. The contract structure facilitates potential long-term partnerships with the Authority, emphasising quality over price, thus encouraging innovation and sustained service excellence. Businesses seeking to enter or expand within the social care sector in Leicester and surrounding areas will find these contracts a valuable avenue for growth.
