## Summary

Buckinghamshire Council has completed the procurement process for Dry Mixed Recycling services under an open procedure. This contract involves the collection, transporting, and processing of co-mingled dry mixed recycling materials. The council collects about 20,000 tonnes annually at kerbside, which is then stored at their Waste Transfer Station before being transported to the contractor's materials recovery facility (MRF). Awarded to GAE Smith (Holdings) Ltd T/A Casepak, the contract will commence on 3rd September 2024, running until 2nd September 2026 with potential extensions up to 7th September 2030. This procurement process belongs to the 'Refuse recycling services' industry and is located in Buckinghamshire, South East England (UKJ13).

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses within the refuse recycling services industry, especially those capable of handling large volumes of mixed recyclables and providing efficient processing facilities. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly well-suited to compete given the council's preference for quality and competitive pricing in the award criteria. This contract not only promises to add value through systematic waste processing but also opens doors for businesses to establish long-term relationships with a regional authority, potentially leading to phased policy-driven changes such as segregated collections, further enhancing service contracts' scope and scale.
