This contract is for the development and implementation of integration for the encompass programme between the GE Viewpoint ultrasound scanning system, NIPACS system and the Epic EHSCR.

### Procurement Information

MDI Medical Systems is the single supplier at BHSCT of this Viewpoint software and they provide support of the main system and their bespoke interface engine. This system is currently used as the ultrasound reading and NIPACS system at BHSCT. Only the supplier of the GE Viewpoint system, MDI Medical Systems, has the technical expertise to carry out this integration of their product with the encompass EHR solution being implemented in HSCNI. It is not possible to procure this interface development via a framework route. Alternative options are not appropriate in this instance as GE Viewpoint is already contracted and deployed at BHSCT. GE Viewpoint is the only ultrasound reading system in use for this purpose locally and therefore this contract is justified for technical reasons under Regulation 32(2)(b) (ii) Competition is absent for technical reasons.
