## Summary

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has completed the procurement process for two separate lots under the title "SOL - Civil Engineering Support (Framework)," covering civil engineering and construction works. The tender, which followed an open procedure, is part of the Works industry category and pertains to projects within the Solihull area (UKG32). The procurement was divided into Lot 1 for minor civil projects with budgets up to £500,000, and Lot 2 for larger-scale projects exceeding £500,001 with an upper limit of £1.5 million. The process began with tender submissions due by 26 April 2024, and contracts were awarded on 5 August 2024, with the contract period starting on 1 July 2024 and potential renewals of up to two additional years.

This framework offers significant business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs in the civil engineering sector. Small and medium enterprises capable of handling minor projects, such as road maintenance, footway improvements, and traffic safety measures, would be suited for Lot 1. In contrast, larger firms or those with multi-disciplinary expertise could compete for Lot 2, addressing substantial infrastructure projects. The awarded suppliers include Fitzgerald Contractors Limited, Erris Builders Ltd, Haystoun Construction Ltd, and MJ Church (Plant) Limited, showcasing the potential for businesses of various scales to secure substantial contracts with local authorities. Detailed documentation and compliance with the specific requirements of each lot are essential for a successful bid.
