Extension of the current Crowd Management & Event Security Provision for a further 8-month period to accommodate the restructure currently taking place within the Council's Culture, Sport & Tourism Department. This 8-month period will allow for the appointment of a new Festivals and Events Manager and allow for the re-procurement of the Provision via an Open Tender.

### Procurement Information

The Council's Culture, Sport & Tourism Department are currently undergoing a restructure. The restructure is absorbing a high level of resource from officers within this department and due to the restructure there is currently no Festival & Events Manager at the Council (Contract Manager) therefore, there is no officer availability to be involved in a full re-procurement of the Provision which may diminish the effectiveness of the Procurement. The Council do not currently have a Festival & Events Manager (who would be the Contract Manager for this arrangement) therefore, the Council would rather that the current provision with Showsec International Limited is extended for a periof of 8-months to ensure sufficient time to: 1. Appoint a Festivals & Events Manager who will play a large part in the Specification Development and the Procurement of the new Contract. It is critical that for a Contract of this importance and value that the Contract Manager is involved from beginning to end of the Procurement to ensure a thorough understanding of the specification & Terms & Conditions so that it can be managed effectively. 2. Sufficient time to conduct a compliant, above threshold Open Tender.
