## Summary

The NHS Lothian Health Board, based in Edinburgh, has awarded contracts under its framework agreement for measured term minor building works and maintenance services, each valued under £50,000 excluding VAT. This framework, active since 18th July 2024, covers several industry categories, including building construction work, metalwork and blacksmithing services, painting and decorating, flooring, and more. The contracts are regionally focused on UKM73, UKM75, and UKM78. The procurement was conducted via an open procedure, ensuring transparency and competitiveness. Notable contractors involved include jamieson joiners & builders, Dumbreck Decorators, Kirkton Flooring, and Airlie’s Glazing and Locksmith Ltd. The framework is planned to be in effect for an initial two-year term, with a possible extension for up to three additional years.

These contracts present significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those specializing in construction, maintenance, and specialist trades such as metalwork and flooring. Companies with expertise in healthcare environments, contingency planning, and infection mitigation are well-positioned to benefit from these contracts. The framework encourages the inclusion of community benefits and sustainability practices, emphasizing the importance of quality and fair work principles. Businesses qualifying under the specific criteria—such as membership in professional bodies like the Guild of Master Builders or WRAS—will find these tenders align well with their capabilities, thereby fostering growth through public sector collaborations.
