## Summary

Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig (Welsh Water) is seeking tenders for the Water Network Alliance Delivery Frameworks. The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, with submissions due by 5th September 2024. The project, spanning up to 8 years, encompasses various critical works related to water-distribution pipelines within the region of UKL (Wales). The tender is divided into two main lots: Lot 1 involves metering, customer appointment programmes, and network maintenance, whereas Lot 2 focuses on mains rehabilitation and mains laying. The total estimated value of the procurement is £752 million, and works under each lot will be awarded to multiple contractors according to specified criteria. The procurement method is a selective, negotiated procedure with a prior call for competition.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses involved in the water infrastructure sector, particularly those with expertise in water-distribution pipelines, maintenance, and emergency response services. Companies specialising in civil engineering, plumbing, metering, and network repair and maintenance will find this framework advantageous. The structured division into lots and the scope for multiple contractors open avenues for both large enterprises and specialised SMEs to contribute effectively. Firms that meet the pre-qualification criteria stand to benefit from long-term contracts and a steady workflow, aiding in sustainable business growth.
