## Summary

The public procurement contracting process for the "Roads Maintenance Framework 2024-2028" involves Stirling Council, Clackmannanshire Council, and Falkirk Council. This open tender procedure aims to create a framework agreement for works in road services. The framework covers various lots including road maintenance, improvements, surface dressing, vehicle restraint systems, street lighting, painting, and more. The procurement is in an active stage with a tender period ending on 5th June 2024.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses in the road maintenance and construction industry to participate in projects across the Stirling, Clackmannanshire, and Falkirk regions. Businesses offering services related to road construction, maintenance, lighting, painting, and civil engineering would be well-suited to compete. By meeting quality and price criteria, businesses can potentially secure contracts for different lots within the framework, contributing to the economic, environmental, and social objectives of the councils involved.

## Notice

Stirling Council, Clackmannanshire Council and Falkirk Council are carrying out an open tender procedure to create a framework agreement for works across their Road Services teams. Lot 8 Retread and Micro Asphalt

To prolong the life of the asset, this is usually followed by the micro asphalt process, however, each can be used independently. The micro asphalt process is a two-phase process. First, a regulating layer of material is applied. This improves the surface profile of the road. This is followed by a second layer which gives the final surface. Both layers are usually applied on the same day, to a thickness of approximately 14mm

Infrared patching - uses an infrared heating unit to heat in-place asphalt to soften it to a workable state, then new asphalt can be added which fuses seamlessly to the old.
