## Summary

Manchester City Council has completed the procurement process for the "TC1198 - Safer At Home" tender, under the services category, specifically focusing on social work and related services. The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure the safety of victims and survivors of domestic abuse by installing security measures in their homes to avoid the need for temporary or emergency accommodation. The tender was part of an open procedure and was awarded to 24-7 Locks Ltd. on 2nd August 2024. The contract, valued at £800,000, covers the North West region (UKD3) and includes services like the installation of door cameras, fire safety measures, and secure spaces within homes. The tender had a submission deadline of 3rd June 2024, with a contract period expected to commence on 22nd July 2024 and potentially run for up to four years if extended.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in security services, domestic abuse support, and social work services. Companies equipped with the capability to install high-security systems and provide comprehensive safety solutions would be well-suited for similar contracts. The focus on social value, zero carbon, and environmental considerations, alongside quality, offers a competitive edge to businesses prioritising these areas. SMEs dedicated to regional economic and social regeneration would also see benefits from participation in future contracts of this nature, leveraging their local expertise and community focus to meet the Council's criteria effectively.

## Notice

The primary aim of the Safer at Home scheme is to protect victims/survivors of domestic abuse and enable them to remain in their homes, removing the need to go into temporary or emergency accommodation. This is achieved through the installation of additional security measures within the home such as door cameras, fire safety measures, increased security on easily accessible doors and windows and, where necessary, the creation of a sanctuary room which provides victims/survivors a safe place to wait for the arrival of emergency services.
