## Summary

The Ministry of Defence is inviting potential suppliers to tender for a contract to supply, install, and support a new recording and video teleconferencing system for the judicial courts in the UK Sovereign Base Areas (SBAs) of Episkopi and Dhekelia on the island of Cyprus. This procurement, currently at the tender stage, involves supplying and installing new hardware and software, removing and responsibly disposing of existing hardware, providing live-link facilities for remote access to court sessions, and offering cloud storage for up to 6000 hours of audiovisual recordings annually. The contract, valued at £535,000, spans a five-year term with no extension options. Key dates include the tender submission deadline on 3rd September 2024, followed by the expected award of the contract in October 2024, and the system’s operational deadline by 31st March 2025.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in video conferencing equipment, software development, and IT support services. Companies with robust capabilities in installing and maintaining audiovisual systems, providing cloud storage solutions, and offering remote and on-site support would be well-suited to compete for this contract. The competitive open procedure and moderate cyber risk profile underscore the need for tenderers to demonstrate comprehensive technical and economic capacities. By engaging in this procurement, businesses can establish a presence in the defence sector, particularly within the judicial infrastructure of the SBA courts, enhancing their market reputation and diversifying their client portfolio.
