## Summary

The British Museum is seeking to replace its Digital Asset Management System (DAMS). This critical system stores and distributes images across various departments and systems, supporting research, education, commercial image sales, and marketing content. The procurement involves configuring a new cloud-based DAMS, migrating existing assets, integrating with other Museum systems, and providing ongoing support. The estimated contract value is £2,125,000. The procurement method is an open procedure conducted via the Delta eSourcing platform, with the tender period ending on June 21, 2024.

This tender offers an opportunity for business growth, particularly for small or medium enterprises (SMEs) in the software and information systems industry category. Businesses capable of providing cloud-based DAMS solutions, asset migration services, and system integration are well-suited to compete. The British Museum, based in London, is the contracting authority overseeing this procurement in the goods category. The call for tenders aims to select operators based on predefined criteria, presenting a significant opportunity for firms in the technology sector with expertise in software package development and information systems integration.

## Notice

The British Museum wishes to replace its Digital Asset Management System (DAMS), a critical system that stores and distributes images across many systems and departments. It facilitates research and education, enables commercial image sales, and provides material for marketing content. Whilst the DAMS is internal facing it also supplies images to public facing systems, notably the Museum's online collection database, Collections Online. This procurement includes the following activities: a) Configuration of a new cloud based DAMS operating on a SaaS basis, b) Migration of existing assets & metadata from the existing on premises DAMS to the new cloud based DAMS, c) Integration of the new DAMS with other Museum systems, d) Ongoing support for the new DAMS. The estimated total contract value is based on a maximum contract duration of 10 years and assumptions about the volume of data that will be stored in the DAMS over that period so should be treated as being indicative only.
