## Summary

The Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, based in Yeovil, United Kingdom, has awarded a contract to Intelerad Medical Systems Inc for the "West of England Imaging Network - Imaging Framework". This procurement aims to establish a digital technology infrastructure that enables the sharing of radiology images across multiple trusts in the West of England, enhancing clinical care pathways. The contract, valued at £49.85 million, was signed on 20th January 2025, following an open procurement procedure. The framework includes four lots: PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), RIS (Radiology Information System), a sharing solution, and associated storage solutions. The procurement was part of a single supplier framework to be accessed by trusts including Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and several other regional trusts.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for companies specialising in software packages and information systems, especially those capable of offering comprehensive imaging and information sharing solutions. Businesses that can provide robust, safe, and efficient digital infrastructure for radiology image sharing would be well-suited to compete, particularly those experienced in long-term healthcare technology projects. Engaging in this framework can lead to substantial contract lengths of up to ten years, opening avenues for sustained collaboration and development in the digital infrastructure of healthcare services in the West of England.
