## Summary

The Cumberland Council has successfully completed a procurement process for their Minor Works Construction Framework, focused on maintaining their diverse property portfolio across the region. The procurement falls under the construction industry category (CPV: 45000000) and includes two main lots: General Building Works and Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance. The completed contracts, signed on 15 October 2024, collectively represent a potential maximum spend of £24,000,000. The initially competitive tender process opened on 20 May 2024, and the framework is expected to span up to four years. This open procurement method aimed to identify between 4 to 8 contractors per lot, with projects averaging £70,000 each.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for contractors in the building and mechanical & electrical sectors. Companies specializing in carpentry, joinery, masonry, bricklaying, plastering, drylining, mechanical installations, and electrical services will find this framework particularly beneficial. The opportunity for long-term partnerships with Cumberland Council ensures a consistent workflow and potential for sustained revenue. SMEs based in the region, with relevant qualifications such as Gas Safe registration or B & ES certification, are well-positioned to compete and secure work under this framework, fostering local economic development and enhancing their business prospects.
