## Summary

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is planning the procurement of a new digital stock ordering and workflow process service for the All-Wales Pharmacy Technical service under the Transforming Access to Medicine (TrAMs) Digital Project. This project aims to create a new Pharmacy Technical Service involving the ordering of medicines at manufacturing hubs. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, and the deadline for future communications regarding this tender is 2nd December 2024.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses providing software-related services to engage in delivering an integrated software platform for the All-Wales Pharmacy Technical service. Companies interested in providing digital stock ordering and workflow process services within the healthcare industry, specifically in Wales, may find this opportunity suitable for business growth. The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is the buying organization for this tender, undertaken in partnership with the Welsh Government and Health Boards/Trusts, to transform Pharmacy Technical Services in Wales.

## Notice

NWSSP Wish to engage with prospective suppliers in relation to the planned procurement of a new digital stock ordering and workflow process service for the All-Wales Pharmacy Technical service. The objectives of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) are to assess the interest and capacity within the market to deliver an integrated software platform for All-Wales Pharmacy Technical service and to obtain indicative costs to inform the business case. The Transforming Access to Medicines (TRAMS) programme is a programme to establish a new Pharmacy Technical Service which will, in essence, be a medicines manufacturing service, whereby customers (typically NHS Wales Health Boards/Trusts) will be placing orders for medicines at one of 3x main manufacturing hubs, and at least 1x satellite hub. The TRAMS programme is a strategic Welsh Government programme delivered in partnership with NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership and the Health Boards/Trusts to transform Pharmacy Technical Services in Wales. The Minister for Health and Social Services endorsed the new service in an announcement on 17 March 2021. The Digital System Project is one of the main projects that underlines this programme, which has Welsh Government approval. The Digital System will become the backbone, which will underpin the operation of the new Pharmacy Technical Service. The key deliverable for this procurement is a digital stock ordering and workflow process service that will facilitate customers ordering products from an agreed Medicines Product Catalogue.
