## Summary

The North Yorkshire Police, in collaboration with the North Yorkshire Council through their teckal company Nynet Limited, have completed a voluntary ex ante transparency notice for the provision of a Wide Area Network (WAN) service. This procurement process falls under the services category and aims to enable reliable network connections for the Police Force and Fire and Rescue Service within North Yorkshire. The tender, initiated by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, has been cancelled and involves the discontinuation of existing network services and implementation of new broadband solutions. The procurement method used is an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition.

This procurement opportunity offers businesses in the networking services industry the chance to engage with the public sector by providing essential WAN services to support critical emergency response functions. Companies specialising in network design, installation, and maintenance, especially those with experience in delivering network solutions for public safety organisations, are well-suited to compete for this contract. The contracting entities aim to enhance secure and resilient communications, achieve cost reduction in shared buildings, and provide reliable network access to support various public service functions in North Yorkshire.
