## Summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), part of the UK Government's Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, has completed a public procurement process for the provision of a Poultry Culling Services Framework Agreement. This contract, aimed at replacing the current framework, encompasses various services under the animal husbandry category and is primarily located across the UK. The procurement process was conducted using an open procedure, part of the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), and involves services such as containerised gassing unit services, poultry catching services, and supply of gases for culling processes. Key stages included planning, tender, and award, with the award stages finalized by 25th April 2025 and contracts concluded on 30th May 2025.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for businesses, especially SMEs, involved in animal husbandry and related services, to expand their reach. Companies with expertise in poultry culling and disease control can benefit from participating in future similar tenders. The framework's open nature allows multiple suppliers to engage, thus encouraging wider competition and innovation within the sector. Suppliers like Livetec Systems Ltd and HallMark Meat Hygiene Ltd have been successfully appointed, exemplifying the potential for SMEs to secure government contracts and enhance their market presence in the UK and beyond.

## Notice

APHA are seeking to replace the current framework with a new framework for the provision of Poultry Culling Services.
