## Summary

The Liverpool City Council has completed an open procurement process to commission the "Domestic Abuse Respite Service (DARS)", which falls under the "Housing services" and "Health and social work services" industry categories. The purpose of this service is to aid individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and have experienced domestic abuse or other forms of violence, including violence against women and girls (VAWG). The procurement involved providing 10 self-contained units of high-quality accommodation across the city, with robust support services. The contract, valued at £820,386, was awarded on 27th August 2024 to the City of Liverpool YMCA, operating as YMCA Together. The process had multiple stages, including the tender, award, and contract signing, with essential dates spanning from 8th July 2024 for tender submission to 27th August 2024 for contract signing.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses within the care, health, and housing support sectors. The project calls for trauma-informed services and high-quality living spaces, making it ideal for businesses specialising in social services, mental health support, and domestic violence response. Specifically, it offers potential engagement for suppliers who can deliver specialised accommodation and 24/7 support services tailored to vulnerable populations. Firms with expertise in creating safe, supportive environments and fostering recovery from trauma would be particularly well-suited to compete for similar future contracts.
