## Summary

Sefton Council has recently completed the procurement process for the provision of a SEND Information Advice and Support Service. The process, initiated by an open procedure, culminated in an award to the supplier KIDS on 25th September 2024. The service, classified under Social Services (CPV code 85320000), aims to aid children and young people aged 0-25 years with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their carers. This initiative, set in the North West region (UKD73), will run from 1st November 2024 to 31st October 2026, with an optional extension of 12 months. The total contract value is £390,000, and the service delivery is guided by the statutory requirements outlined in the Children and Families Act 2014.

This tender presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in social services and those experienced in providing educational, health, and social care information. Organisations capable of offering impartial advice, ensuring clear communication, and supporting informed decision-making for SEND beneficiaries would be highly competitive for future tenders or renewals. Engaging in such contracts can enhance business portfolios and establish long-term collaborations with local authorities like Sefton Council. Businesses looking to secure similar opportunities should be prepared to operate within the statutory guidelines and deliver high-quality, value-driven services.
