## Summary

The Scottish Government is overseeing the procurement process for the provision of Electronic Counting services for the Scottish Local Government Elections scheduled for 2027, with the contract also covering potential by-elections up to 2032. The procurement is being managed through an open procedure to ensure a fair competition, and the contract's value over its duration is approximately £12,750,000 GBP. The procurement stage has recently been completed, with the contract awarded to CGI IT UK LIMITED. Key dates include the elections due on 6th May 2027, with counting expected on the 7th May. The central purchasing body, the Scottish Government, headquartered in Glasgow, is the main point of contact and authority overseeing this process. The main industry category for this tender is Computer hardware acceptance testing consultancy services, and services are to be delivered across the UKM region.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for business growth, particularly for companies specialising in IT services, software development, data capture, and project management consultancy. Given the focus on electronic counting of votes, businesses with expertise in technological solutions for large-scale data processing, security management, and election-related systems are well-positioned to compete. The involvement of local SMEs and opportunities for community benefits, like work experience and graduate hires, further enhance this contract's attractiveness. It is essential for participating businesses to demonstrate a robust understanding of sustainability practices, fair work commitments, and innovative solutions aligned with the needs of public services in Scotland.
