## Summary

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex has issued an invitation to tender for the provision of a Night Safety Marshal Scheme across town centres in Sussex, focusing on public security services. The scheme aims to increase public safety and confidence, reduce demand on emergency services, and decrease serious violence, with an emphasis on protecting vulnerable communities and preventing violence against women and girls. The procurement is at the award stage with Resolve Security Solutions Ltd selected as the supplier. Key areas covered include Brighton, Eastbourne, and Crawley, with the project expected to commence from 4th October 2024. The tender followed an open procedure and concluded with significant participation, receiving a total of five bids, four of which were from SMEs.

This tender offers a substantial opportunity for security service providers, particularly those experienced in public safety and having the necessary SIA Door Supervisor Accreditation. The primary focus on quality—comprising 80% of the award criteria—emphasises the importance of robust and efficient service delivery. Businesses adept at providing security services in urban settings, with a clear track record of safeguarding vulnerable populations, are well-suited to compete. The contract value is notable at £1,099,588, marking it as a lucrative chance for firms looking to expand within the Sussex region. The contract duration includes potential extensions contingent upon additional Home Office funding, presenting further opportunities for sustained business growth.
