## Summary

The Ministry of Defence, represented by the Salvage and Marine Operations (SALMO) department, has decided to negotiate a contract with Forum Energy Technologies (UK) Ltd for the provision of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Spares, and In Service Support. The contract has an estimated value of £18M and a duration of 2 years and 9 months. This procurement process falls under the main procurement category of goods and is classified as the procurement of a Work Class Remotely Operated Vehicle (WROV) for underwater operations. The procurement method used is limited with a rationale that only a specific economic operator can provide the required technical specifications, justifying the negotiation without public notice.

This tender opportunity, led by the Ministry of Defence, caters to businesses specializing in unmanned underwater vehicles and marine technology. The contract presents an opportunity for suppliers with expertise in underwater robotics and support services. Businesses must be capable of meeting the specific technical requirements outlined by SALMO, including depth rating, payload capacity, operating system capabilities, and UK Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) criteria. For businesses seeking growth opportunities in national security and defence procurement, this tender provides a strategic entry point into supplying essential equipment to governmental authorities while adhering to stringent technical standards.
