## Summary

The Metropolitan Housing Trust (MHT), based in London, is overseeing the procurement process for a series of construction contracts under the title "2024-2025-028 Remediation Works Contractor Framework," classified within the construction work industry. The process supports MHT's ongoing building remediation programme, focusing on fire and structural safety improvements. This initiative is within the procurement stage of completion and award, highlighting the trust's dedication to safety in their housing stock across various UK regions, including the Midlands, South East, and London. The framework utilises a selective procurement method, and some lot statuses have been marked as cancelled. Notably, contracts were signed on 16th January 2026, with a framework valued up to £807 million, including estimated call-offs for approved authorised users. These ongoing awards allocate substantial funds, creating extended opportunities over a seven-year duration justified by project timelines and safety risks.

These remediation projects offer a significant growth opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with core competencies in construction and refurbishment. MHT encourages engaging suppliers with competence in technical standards and quality, as well as managing intended costs. SMEs capable of meeting new Building Regulations standards stand to benefit, given the scale and scope of imminent works distributed across several lots ranging in value from £1 million to over £5 million. The framework is designed to enhance resource allocation and improve community safety outcomes, optimising supplier engagement throughout the project's life cycle, thus offering continual business growth and strategic relationship-building within the public sector.
