## Summary

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is conducting a public procurement process for the supply of optical related equipment components and consumables, classified under CPV code 38000000 (Laboratory, optical and precision equipments excl. glasses). This tender, split into ten lots, is an open procedure with a framework agreement envisioned to accommodate up to six suppliers. The tender process, which began on 24th July 2024, has an end date for submissions set for 26th August 2024 at 12:00 PM, followed by bid opening on the same day at 2:00 PM. The contract is to be performed in Nottingham (region UKF) and it covers a variety of items such as optical elements, optomechanical devices, light sources, and future technologies, among other related components.

This tender provides a significant opportunity for businesses involved in the optical and precision equipment sector to secure a framework agreement with NTU. Given the scope and division into multiple lots, both large enterprises and SMEs specializing in areas such as optical instruments, fibre optics, laser technology, and optical accessories are well-suited to compete. Suppliers like Thorlabs Ltd, EDMUND OPTICS LTD., RS COMPONENTS LIMITED, and PRO-LITE TECHNOLOGY LTD have previously been awarded contracts, highlighting the potential for new vendors to join a reputable pool of suppliers. The detailed requirements and structured lots offer businesses the flexibility to bid for specific segments where they have expertise, fostering business growth and diversification within the education and research sectors.
