## Summary

The South East London Integrated Care Board (SEL ICB) has awarded a contract for psychiatric hospital services to the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The contract, titled "2024-25 SELICB-SLAM", pertains to mental health care services and has a total lifetime value of £1,566,945,000 (£313,389,000 annually). The contract, starting on 1st April 2024 and ending on 31st March 2027, includes an option for a two-year extension at the sole discretion of the authority. The procurement method utilised is a limited process without prior publication of a competition call, justified by the provider being the only capable entity due to the specialised nature of the services. The SEL ICB Executive Committee approved the contract award, with the governance maintained as per the SEL ICB's standards and constitution.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in psychiatric and mental health care services to explore related areas for growth. Companies specialising in medical supplies, healthcare IT solutions, staff training, and ancillary health services could find numerous collaborative and support roles within this contract. Given the extensive value and duration of the contract, businesses providing supplementary services could establish long-term relationships with the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, enhancing their presence in the healthcare industry, particularly within the South East London region.
