## Summary

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is initiating a public procurement process for construction work at the British Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Currently in the planning stage, this project focuses on a range of infrastructure and estate improvements, including security upgrades, building services improvements, and addressing health and safety issues. The tender, valued at GBP 29,000,000, encompasses phases 1 and 2 of the project, involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades, among other tasks. Interested suppliers are requested to confirm their interest via email to Douglas Beveridge by 9th August 2024. The main procurement category is 'works' under the CPV classification code 45000000, and the procurement method appears to be competitive tendering.

This tender offers significant opportunities for construction firms with expertise in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects, particularly those with experience in secure environments. Companies specialising in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services, as well as firms experienced in health and safety compliance and security enhancements, would be well-suited to compete. Winning this contract could enhance a firm's portfolio, particularly in international and governmental projects, positioning the successful bidder for future opportunities within similar high-stakes environments.
