### Procurement Information

Calibration of RPI ensures that all instruments provide accurate data (as required by Regulation 20, Ionising Radiations Regulations) to maintain a safe working environment.
The current Gamma Calibration Facility system (both hardware and software) is an aging asset; the entire system is no longer supported by the original manufacturer. Due to the age of the equipment, degradation of sources and lack of IT updates, and with no back-up system available, there is an increasing risk of failure, therefore urgent remedial action is required.
To maintain a compliant, calibrating capability an X-ray system is required, and the identified supplier is the only UK/European supplier capable of directly providing a compatible system suitable for RPI calibration in the required timescales.
