## Summary

The University of Birmingham has announced the annual renewal of part of its insurance provision with Hasilwood Management Services Ltd, a subsidiary of UMAL. This approach falls under a Voluntary Ex-Ante Transparency (VEAT) notice for a one-year period, with an option to extend for an additional year. The procurement, classified as insurance services, is particularly focused on the university's estate and is set in the region of UKG31. This decision was part of a negotiated process without the publication of a contract notice, aimed at allowing a comprehensive review of the university's insurance needs, including a thorough risk assessment and valuation. The contract, valued at £3,000,000, was awarded on 8th August 2024.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in insurance services tailored to large educational institutions. Businesses equipped to provide extensive insurance coverage, including niche areas such as fine art, engineering inspections, and motor fleet insurance, would be well-suited to compete. Companies that can offer comprehensive risk assessments and innovative insurance solutions that align with the university's requirements will find this tender particularly appealing. By engaging in this procurement process, businesses have the potential to significantly expand their portfolios and establish long-term relationships with key public sector clients like the University of Birmingham.
