## Summary

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), based in Southampton, UK, has recently engaged in procurement activities to secure support and maintenance for their IT systems, specifically the Approved Doctors Information System (ADIS) and Short Course Database (SCDB). The procurement process, identified by the tag "tender", was initiated through an open procedure under PCR 2015, signalling a transparent and competitive approach. Key dates include the contract signing for "Approved Doctors Information System Support and Maintenance" on 16 June 2025, with the contract status currently active. The industry focus is on system maintenance services, with Professional Data Management Services Limited securing the award for the ADIS project and CATAPULT CX LIMITED being awarded the SCDB project. The total contract value is approximately £963,618, emphasising the sizeable opportunity presented by this procurement.

For businesses in the IT sector, especially those focused on system maintenance and managed services, these contracts offer substantial opportunities for growth and exposure within the government procurement landscape. SMEs, in particular, could find this beneficial, as evidenced by the active participation and award of contracts to smaller firms like Professional Data Management Services Limited and CATAPULT CX LIMITED. Companies capable of providing comprehensive system support, including debugging, diagnostics, and proactive maintenance, are well-suited to compete for such contracts. The emphasis on maintaining high technical knowledge and meeting strict resolution times caters to businesses with a robust service track record in managing and supporting complex IT systems.
