## Summary

The procurement process initiated by Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) involved the tender for the Provision of General Medical Services (GMS) or Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) Contract at Neyland & Johnston Surgery, focusing on health and social work services. The buying organisation, HDUHB, aims to enhance healthcare services across its jurisdiction in the rural areas of Neyland and Johnston in Pembrokeshire. The procurement used an open procedure and covered by the GPA, with initial bidding due by 16th September 2024, and the contractual aim was to transition the practice to independent contractor status by 1st December 2024. This tender provided significant opportunities for forward-thinking and innovative partnerships within the healthcare sector, particularly for businesses familiar with managing community-based healthcare services in rural settings. Ideal candidates would have been those capable of navigating the operational complexities of delivering general medical services through two sites, servicing about 5900 patients.
