## Summary

NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the contracting authority overseeing the procurement of Mandatory Dental Services in two locations: Chard and Crewkerne. The procurement process has been carried out in various stages, currently culminating in the award stage for Lot 2 in Crewkerne. The services are classified under the industry category "Dental practice and related services" and are intended to commence from 28th November 2025. Procuring services through an open procedure, NHS Somerset ICB has implemented a competitive Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for this process. The contract for Lot 2, recently awarded to Harunani & Co Group of Dental Surgeries, is valued at £5,285,288 and will span up to 116 months and 29 days. Earlier, Lot 1 in Chard was awarded to 1OSD Limited with a contract value of £8,479,973.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for business growth, especially for dental service providers with the capability to enhance oral health and reduce health inequities in the Somerset area. Given the focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness, businesses specialising in offering scalable dental services aligned with NHS standards are well-suited to compete. With a significant commitment of up to ten years and substantial contract values, SMEs can benefit from sustained revenue streams and the ability to contribute to NHS objectives, such as improving children’s oral health and supporting vulnerable populations. Providers who excel in integrating services and fostering collaboration within healthcare frameworks are particularly positioned to thrive in this procurement environment.
