## Summary

NHS England South West is in the planning stage of procuring the Reintegration and Recovery Service for Adults who have experienced Sexual Violence in Avon & Somerset, under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract is valued at £820,000 and is scheduled to commence on 1st October 2024, with an expiry date of 30th September 2029. The procurement process is managed by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW), and potential providers must submit their expression of interest via Atamis by midnight, Friday 6th September. The procurement is focused on rehabilitation services and aims to transition from the 'Avon and Somerset Enhanced Mental Health Pathfinder' project's proof of concept to an ongoing, sustainable service delivery model.

This tender presents opportunities for businesses specialising in sexual violence support and rehabilitation services to secure a substantial contract with NHS England. Ideal candidates are those with experience in the Avon and Somerset sexual violence support services pathway, registered with professional bodies such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and capable of mobilising by the contract start date. Successful providers will need to demonstrate strong capabilities in integration, collaboration, service sustainability, and innovation, which are key criteria for selection. This contract represents a significant opportunity for businesses to expand their service portfolios and contribute to improving health outcomes for a vulnerable population.

## Notice

This notice is placed to set out NHS England South West's (the Commissioner's) intention to follow the Most Suitable Provider Process. NHS England South West is commissioning reintegration and recovery services for people who have experienced sexual violence. This provision is for the area of Avon and Somerset, to continue the work of the 'Avon and Somerset Enhanced Mental Health Pathfinder' which has been running since 2022. The intention is to move from 'proof of concept' stage to an ongoing model of delivery based on proven outcomes. The Commissioner, is seeking a provider/s who are suitable and capable to continue the delivery of this work. Whilst notable improvements have been made in addressing health inequalities, there remains a significant gap in services to assist Pathfinder clients to reintegrate into the community and move on with their recovery after therapy. This service will be open to adults who are moving on from the therapy they have received from services in the Avon and Somerset sexual violence services pathway. The services will be for people aged 18 and over. The contract will commence on 1st October 2024. The contract will expire on 30th September 2029. Those delivering the services must be qualified and registered with the relevant bodies, such as the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The provider must have experience of delivering services within the sexual violence support services pathway within Avon and Somerset, and have established links and networks to enable collaborative working and integrated delivery. The Provider must be able to mobilise by the contract start date. Services will be contracted using the latest version of the NHS Standard Contract. This exercise is being carried out by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit (SCW) on behalf of the Commissioner.

There is currently an 'Active Recovery' community, based in the Bristol area, providing joy, connection, grounding, compassion, safety and the opportunity to learn new skills. It is founded upon the principles of co-production and peer support. Based at The Southmead Project, the Active Recovery Project (ARP) is Bristol's first free, trauma-informed, multi-activity intervention. It offers its Members experiential support that enables them to practise new ways of being. This "embodying of recovery" is rarely available in UK recovery services. ARP seeks to enable Members to develop peer support networks, increase their physical and mental wellbeing, and continue their ongoing recovery by participating in weekly sport, exercise and other community-based activity sessions. The project has been very positively evaluated. The future service will build upon this success and help participants to build trust, develop a range of skills, and establish connections to help reduce isolation. The service will act as a resource for the whole Avon & Somerset sexual violence therapeutic pathway and accept appropriate referrals from all partner organisations. The service will reach a minimum of 80 participants a year (40 in 'Avon' and 40 in Somerset). The services will be for people aged 18 and over. The contract will commence on 1st October 2024. The contract will expire on 30th September 2029.
