## Summary

The North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) has conducted a competitive procurement process for the provision of Complex and Non-Complex Podiatry Services under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This tender, identified as NECS393, aims to deliver health services to eligible patients across Sunderland and South Tyneside. The procurement process followed an open procedure, and the contract is set to commence on 1 April 2025 for an initial period of 3 years, with the possibility of a 2-year extension based on satisfactory performance. Key dates for this procurement included the closure of competition responses on 26 September 2024, with the award announcement initially made on 16 December 2024. Thurrock Health Hubs Limited was identified as the successful supplier.

This contract presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those skilled in podiatry. The contract duration and potential extension provide stability and a platform for suppliers to develop long-term relationships with the ICB. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in healthcare delivery and familiarity with the regulations surrounding TUPE and the New Fair Deal policy will find this tender especially beneficial. Given the stringent award criteria and the competitive nature of the procurement process, businesses that can demonstrate high quality and cost-effective solutions will be well-suited to compete and potentially expand their service offerings in this region.
