## Summary

The NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) is planning a procurement process to deliver sustainability and carbon neutral targets through innovative technological solutions. This initiative is focused on the energy and related services industry and aims to support NHS Fife, Lothian, and Borders in achieving their sustainability goals. A Supplier Information Day is scheduled for 8th October 2024 at the NSS Offices in Edinburgh to engage the market and outline the scope and needs of this project. Key milestones include expressing interest by 4th October 2024, with further notices anticipated around 11th December 2024. The project is currently in the planning stage, with the primary procurement category being services.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in renewable energy solutions, such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems, and EV charging infrastructures. Businesses with a robust track record in delivering fully funded, large-scale projects and a minimum of five years of trading history are particularly well-suited to compete. The procurement approach highlights Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) aimed at reducing energy costs and generating income, making it an attractive prospect for companies capable of innovative technology deployment and effective project management. Participation in this procurement process can lead to long-term partnerships and positions businesses as key players in supporting public sector sustainability efforts.
