## Summary

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is planning a tender for the design and delivery of the UKAEA Visitor Centre at their Culham Campus in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, within the region of UKJ14. This project falls under the industry category of "Exhibition equipment" and will consist of designing and building exhibits, both offsite and later installing them at the centre. Key dates include the future notice date on 22nd October 2024, with the completion date set before 30th March 2025. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage and entails a detailed scope that includes engaging with internal UKAEA departments and delivering exhibits that fit into the predesigned exhibition space.

This tender offers lucrative opportunities for businesses specialising in exhibition design, construction, and installation. Companies with experience in creating compelling visitor experiences, especially within educational or scientific sectors, would be well-suited to compete. The project aims to create an engaging and informative space for various groups, including schools, universities, the general public, and the wider fusion sector. This presents a chance for businesses to establish strong working relationships with UKAEA, expand their portfolio, and contribute to a high-profile outreach initiative. Interested suppliers are encouraged to submit expressions of interest and can expect further details in the forthcoming Invitation to Tender documentation.

## Notice

UKAEA undertakes major outreach programs, engaging with school, university groups and the wider public around its main sites and more nationally, with the aim of spreading awareness, building support for fusion, and helping with long term recruitment. In addition, private fusion companies, academia, and the fusion supply chain are all engaging increasingly in such activities. The new reception building at UKAEA's Culham Campus has space dedicated for a 'Visitor Centre' that can 1) host visits to Culham from public and schools 2) act as a 'drop in' visitor experience for locals and visitors to Oxfordshire and 3) be the venue for the wider fusion sector to host events / receptions etc. Please refer to attached documents for further information and details on this opportunity along with information to be submitted as part of the Expression of Interest.

Design 2 additional exhibits (not included in the attached design pack), detailed in Section 4.2. Build and install up to seven exhibits into the new Visitor Centre at Culham Campus. There will be a number of exhibits which UKAEA will deliver internally. All outsourced exhibits must complement these and protect the 'visitor journey' prescribed by UKAEA. Details of these internally delivered exhibits will be provided at tender stage. The Invitation to Tender document will provide the options for interested parties to bid for exhibits; in essence there will be the option to bid for all or a selected number. This is conditional upon completion dates being achieved. The Visitor Centre is housed within our new main gate building at the entrance of Culham Campus. This building has already been designed, and exhibits must fit into the requirements of the 'Exhibition' space (CUL-C11-F0-06). Please find attached floor plans outlining the space available. This scope assumes that the exhibits will be built first offsite and then installed within the Visitor Centre at a later date (before 30th March 2025). Additional information: Additional information provided within the attached documentation covering detailed requirements, along with outline design information and drawings. UKAEA is keen to receive any responses from interested parties prior to the closure date, if any additional information is required please do reach out to the contact point detailed within this notice.
