## Summary

Sellafield Ltd, a body governed by public law and located in Warrington, UK, is planning a procurement process under the title "Early Legacy 3m3 Boxes" in the industry category of miscellaneous fabricated products and related items. The process is currently in the planning stage with a main focus on goods procurement. The procurement will be conducted through the Engineering and Technology Solutions Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). A market engagement period will run from September to November 2024, culminating in an Invitation to Tender (ITT) in November 2024, with the contract expected to be awarded by March 2025. Initial delivery of the assemblies is scheduled for August 2026. Key products to be supplied include box bodies, lids, bolt sets, liners, anti-flotation plates, and liquor filter modules, primarily for nuclear material processing and storage in West Cumbria.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses particularly in manufacturing and engineering sectors, specialising in products used in nuclear material processing and storage. Companies that can deliver high-quality, fabricated goods with stringent quality assurance and control protocols will find this tender well-suited. The use of the DPS system allows for an uplift in value thresholds, potentially making this a lucrative opportunity for suppliers. Engaging in initial market activities such as the planned webinar in October and pre-qualifying through the DPS could position businesses advantageously for participation in the formal competition process starting in November 2024.

## Notice

This Prior Information Notice (PIN), without call for competition, is to alert the market and all interested Suppliers to a Contract Opportunity which will be conducted through the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) and to seek engagement in relation to the Supply of Early Legacy 3m3 Boxes, which are containers used for nuclear material processing and storage.

Please note: Use of the DPS as a route to market is subject to an uplift of the value threshold from PS1M to PS5M, which is pending confirmation and will be communicated formally in due course.

Sellafield Ltd is intending to procure the Supply of Early Legacy 3m3 Boxes through the Engineering and Technology Solutions Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) (C12362) (Lot 4: Manufactured Solutions Category). The one successful Tenderer will be required to supply and deliver between 20 and 40 Early Legacy 3m3 box assemblies (subject to PS5m maximum value threshold). Further details in relation to DPS and how to register have been provided in section 11.2.4.1 Description of the Procurement.

Furthermore, Sellafield Ltd will be holding a webinar event in October to provide the supply chain with further details in relation to this Opportunity and to invite suppliers to submit feedback and/or queries. Alongside general information the webinar will focus on the following areas:

Timescales for both pre-manufacture and manufacturing periods

Manufacturability of the product designs

Contract pricing models

Quality arrangements

Details on how to register your interest and attendance at the webinar can be found in section 11.2.14.1.
